Cognitive Language Goals
  • Sort objects by color, shape, size, and other characteristics

  • Count 1-20 (minimum)

  • Recognize numbers 1 to 20

  • Begin to write numbers 1 to 20

  • Complete simple patterns

  • Draw major shapes successfully (circle, square, triangle, rectangle)

  • Name 6-8 colors and 3 or more shapes

  • Describe and predict order of events

  • Follow multi-step directions

  • Identify most upper and lowercase letters

  • Know the sound of most letters (especially 4-5 year olds)

  • Start to identify beginning sounds in words

 

Creative Movement Goals
  • Mimics the teacher’s movements

  • Walks the length of the balance beam

  • Can demonstrate a forward roll

  • Can follow auditory movement instructions

  • Participates in physical activities

  • Retains 2-3 sequences

 

Physical Goals
  • Use scissors skillfully

  • Dress self with little assistance (zip coat)

  • Demonstrate correct pencil grip

  • Print first name

  • Walk up and down stairs appropriately (every other foot – not two feet on each stair)
